Whitby Abbey.
Author: John Goodhall.

The abbey was founded in 657 AD by King Oswy of Northumbria.

The ruins are a major monument of Early English Gothic architecture.

The abbey and its dramatic setting were an inspiration for Bram Stoker's novel Dracula.
